Hitcher, The
Aroview: One of the best and most terrifying thrillers to be made in the '80s. A superbly controlled, often shocking account of a young motorist who is terrorised by a psychopath in the heart of nowhere. A cult sensation.

5 stars (Exceptional) This was probably Rutger Hauer's last great performance before he started sleepwalking through everything. He's terrifying. ~Pearce
1 star (Turkey) Almost without plot or dialogue, this silly movie is very boring. Tom Howell can't act; his hysteria is more convincing that his supposed fear. If you enjoy old police cars bursting into flames you might enjoy parts of the movie! Avoid. ~Anon
