Aurora Borealis

Aroview: A drifting twenty-something is torn between embarking on a burgeoning new romance, and caring for his Alzheimer’s-stricken grandfather in this emotion-heavy coming-of-age drama.

A dedicated cast (Juliette Lewis in particular) gives this potentially mawkish subject matter some much needed believability. While the storyline is nothing new, the film doesn’t patronise its easily-identifiable characters and allows for a rather sweet tale of familial bonds to really affect.
