Aroview: Dubious animated revenge fantasy entertains the vigilante streak of a Danish missionary, whose pornstar sister dies at the hands of her pimp employers, leaving behind a sexually-abused niece.

At least inventive in conception, with live-action flashbacks humanizing the story’s far-fetched bloodletting, this is nothing if not bold. Less convincing though is dir. Morgenthaler’s rationale for animation, where unspeakable acts of violence and sex involving a 5-year-old are made possible. Further more, the film’s righteous anti-porn stance is nullified by its own arousing sadism and brutal stylizations of vengeance, meaning while morally complex, is also wildly contradictory in tone.
