Aroview: Taking fictional liberties with the real-life character of revered New York photographer Diane Arbus, the dir. of SECRETARY fashions another two-hander of sexual tension with an off-beat fetishistic twist.

Nicole Kidman as Arbus is the model 50's housewife who is 'awakened' by her bohemian neighbours, and slowly drawn into the lair of an exotic recluse with a profuse hair-growth condition (played with restrained dignity by Robert Downey Jnr.). Plushly photographed and decorated to a fault, this is an evocative visual rendering of '50s New York, and well enough crafts its rather bizarre love story to keep any unintended titters at bay.
