Aroview: Witty update of the indomitable girl detective, with Nancy Drew poking her nose into the mystery of a murdered movie star during one of her father’s business trips to Hollywood.

Though a commendable attempt to brush up the dusty paperback series with 21st touches and the spunky presence of Emma Roberts (from TV’s UNFABULOUS), as a by-the-book sleuth story, this is less appealing, particularly for those with nostalgia for the 70s Nancy Drew. Nonetheless, for the inquisitive and well-read boy or girl, a nice alternative to the monopoly of HARRY POTTER.
