Mark of Cain, The
Aroview: Based on real first-person accounts, this fictional British war drama explores the effects of the Iraq conflict on two young soldiers who can escape neither the military nor the memories of their front-line actions, once back home.
Convincing portrayals, and impressively and realistically re-creating the mess that is Iraq, the film won Amnesty International’s ‘Movies That Matter’ prize. Veers toward preachy at times, but for the most part, a brutal, honest depiction of the war machine and how it can affect ordinary people on a tour of duty.
