Aroview: Keira Knightley and James McAvoy play out a twisted, unrequited wartime love in this Bafta-adorned tragic-romance from the dir. of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.
Exemplary in observing the highest of British production codes, this adapts Ian McEwan's meaty and expansive novel depicting the irrevocable fate bestowed on lovers by a jealous and precocious childhood friend (Ronan). Apart from the obvious rewards of a 'prestige' drama, this serves up a denouement that is well known to have quivered the most hardened of upper lips.

4 stars (Very Good) A beautiful film with stunning cinematography, it's a tale of class differences, love, truth and justice, that spans several decades beginning shortly before World War II. Very popular and deservedly so. ~GenXGirl
4 stars (Very Good) A wonderful WWII drama with a touching story and performances, and a solid presentation all round. Well worth watching from a war and drama perspective, and a great novel adaptation. ~Tom H
