“The sort of crowd-pleaser that knows the difference between satisfying its viewers and flattering them.”~Variety
Aroview: Charming, rousing WWII romance starring Gemma Arterton as a greenhorn screenwriter who joins a makeshift cast and crew to make a film to lift British morale and inspire America to join the war. An elegant love-letter to female empowerment and the power of movies in the face of genuine adversity, it comes sprinkled with another scene-stealing performance by Bill Nighy.

4 stars (Very Good) Intense, moving, complex & poignant drama brilliantly acted by Gemma Arterton & Bill Nighy. A film within a film on the making of a 'politically correct' movie about Dunkirk during WW2 when women came to the fore in many roles. 117 minutes, recommended. ~Sandy
3 stars (Good Enough) I tend just to admire the period set designs and wardrobe in these productions - it is not say the screenplay or performances are not worth a look. ~Tubbs
