Aroview: Flawed yet watchable policier in which a faultily-wired, one-eared detective with psychic leanings (Lau) is brought in to help on a cold case involving a missing cop.
The puzzling, at times hard to follow script detracts from an otherwise intriguing central conceit; To's recognisably exacting direction is missing, as the narrative is allowed to repeatedly sidestep away from cogent cinematic terra firma. Nevertheless, Lau's detective is suitably cuckoo, while the multiple twists and personalities should keep audiences engaged.
