Invasion, The

Aroview: Riddled with flaws, yet entertaining enough to sustain attention, the third remake of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS centres on a Washington D.C. psychiatrist (a somewhat staid Kidman) and her colleague (Craig) in their bid to destroy an alien bacterium threatening to turn mankind into a soulless species.

Despite misguided attempts at socio-political critique (namely: the complicity of the absent-minded masses in the war on Iraq and the crisis in Darfur), and - paradoxically - seeming to advocate for the human right to cause injury and commit murder (!), this retains just enough elements of the original to merit a look.
