Aroview: Mildly startling Hollywood remake of creepy Hong Kong horror sees Jessica Alba playing the once-blind violinist whose sight gets surgically restored, only to have a series of eerie premonitions and ghostly visions mess with her mind.

Not quite able to match the original's suggestively spooky atmosphere, and - in typically unsubtle American fashion - undoing the mystery by tying it all together with unnecessarily literal explanations, this is still disconcertingly effective at blurring the boundary between illusion and reality.
