Feat. Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Carl Franklin, Richard Gere, Ben Whishaw, Julianne Moore, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Michelle Williams, Marcus Carl Franklin
Aroview: Arthouse maestro Todd Haynes directs this deliciously cinematic, kaleidoscopic musing on the life of Bob Dylan, with six different actors portraying different sides of the singer's haphazard personality and life, including Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger and Christian Bale.
More of an experimental jigsaw that captures the spirit of Mr. Dylan than a straightforward biopic, this drama is worth a look purely for the acting calibre present with Cate Blanchett proving her extraordinary versatility once again. Those with a good knowledge of the man himself will perhaps most appreciate both the accuracy in the detail and the generous liberties taken, but the less initiated should still find this a stimulatingly complex exploration of a misunderstood artist.

4 stars (Very Good) Brilliant and amusing; opaque in places - just like Dylan's lyrics. Worthwhile just to see Cate Blanchett brilliantly playing Dylan. You are strongly advised to see NO DIRECTION HOME first to get the most out of this unusual biopic ~Sandy
4 stars (Very Good) I've been schooled in Dylan since the womb, so all the references and role playing in this film translated smoothly as interpretations of Bob's life. If you're coming in cold, it might look more like limp Fellini. ~Regando
3 stars (Good Enough) Brave filmmaking. Although some segments don't work as well as others the plot idea deserves credit and there is always the music providing the backbone. ~Tubbs
