Smother
Aroview: Familiar yet likeably light-hearted family comedy about an unemployed therapist whose day from hell ends in the discovery of his nauseatingly protective mother (Diane Keaton) and his wife's nutty cousin taking up residence at their home.
Though Keaton’s frequent descents into hammy, hysterical self-parody will likely engender laments for her ANNIE HALL heyday, there’s enough truth in her tactless mother-from-hell to ring bells for long-suffering sons, while the dysfunctional family comic scenarios are funny enough to meet the standards of MEET THE PARENTS fans.
