Grand, The
Aroview: Spontaneous ensemble comedy centred on a reckless gambler (Harrelson) trying to save his grandpa's casino by beating a raft of sneaky Vegas Poker players to win the $10 million dollar prize.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the improvisational approach makes some of the jokes go bust, but is bound to raise chuckles for fans of the cast, reliant as it is on the comedic gifts of actors such as Cross and McKean. Fans of Werner Herzog’s all-too-rare acting appearances will relish his hilarious turn as ‘The German’, a hunter/card sharp with a thing for killing small animals.
