Cooler, The
Aroview: Casino-cool 'indie' film starring William H. Macy as a life-long loser employed to 'cool' the winning streaks of high-rollers in a Las Vegas gambling house run by hardman Alec Baldwin.
But as he begins to get lucky in the romantic stakes with a sympathetic waitress, he loses his cooling touch while boss Baldwin predictably loses his cool. Provides a few immediate thrills and engages an atmosphere, but missing the sophistication of other movies in this genre, this is ultimately less 'black jack' than 'one-armed bandit'.
