Just Buried
Aroview: Unrepentant dark comedy focused on a young man inheriting a struggling funeral home who tries to drum up some business by killing off the town citizens with the help of his mortician girlfriend.
Playing for droll laughs in a minimalist manner, this induces the odd chuckle, but has a tendency to overdo the quirk factor, and doesn’t manage to establish a consistent atmosphere, veering between winsome humour and morbidity without any real conviction. The cast do their best to knock some life into the script, however, with Byrne and Greene in particular making the most of the muddled material.
