Aroview: Provocative Oscar winning doco about Marjoe Gortner, a child preacher who subsequently rebelled against the faith however continued preaching as an adult as a means of making money.

An interesting expose of the evangelical circuit and the power of belief, charismatic Gortner allows us to be voyeurs in his truly alarming sermons while nudging and winking on the side ('Glory je to Besus!'). Although the narrative remains fairly static throughout, the film provides fascinating insight into the predictably hysterical fundamentalists and - more interestingly - the bittersweet disillusionment of the man himself.
