City Of Ember
Aroview: Dystopian children's fantasy set in an underground city of the future that is threatened by eternal darkness but whose leaders protect their citizens from knowledge of a habitable outside world.
Two teenagers discover the truth and plot to make their way out of the cavernous city to the sunlight above ground, also having to battle a mutated mole-creature en route. Top flight cast and production give levity to a gloomy story that spends too much time in the 'dark' to engage young children, though their older siblings will be sufficiently intrigued by the otherworldly concept and its labyrinthine setting.

3 stars (Good Enough) There is also a very good British support cast - of the quality of Toby Jones and Liz Smith et al. The special effects do the job and the set designs are terrific. A good story well told. ~Tubbs
