Class Apart, A

UK 2007, 90 minutes
Dir. Nick Hurran
Rating: [M]
Genres: Drama

Topics: Indigenous & Minority Cultures.

Aroview: Politically-correct 'take-on-the-system' flick starring "Eastenders" fave Wallace as a working-class single mother who just wants her son to get the best education possible in a system based on class and money.

This is a fairly by-the-numbers approach to the sensitive subject of class-relations in Britain, however Wallace brings the spark, and Parker is a riot as the conceited headmaster. Perhaps if the 'upper class' and 'lower class' weren't painted in such broad strokes, this may have truly resonated.
