Henry Poole Is Here
Aroview: Low-key drama centered around Henry Poole (Wilson) a successful man who, upon being diagonosed with a terrible disease, retreats to a small working-class suburb in order to live out the rest of his days alone.
'Kooky' neighbourhood cut-out characters aside, Wilson is terrific in this, elevating a simple-minded redemption tale to something far more identifiable, from his initial scepticism through to subtle shifts in his behaviour as he's matured by the aforementioned kooks. In the face of such a layered performance, one can't help but wish that the overall spiritual message were slightly less finite.
