Married Life

Aroview: A potentially murderous love quadrangle develops between two wealthy businessmen - one of whom is married - and the mistress they covet in post-war America.

Appointed in glamour period detail and a cast to match, but this misses insight on the titular subject, and refuses to let down its hair down as a full-throttle melodrama. There are nuggets of social commentary, and a lightness to the tone which suggests comedy, but this element too, seems a bit stifled. Call it a handsome, teasing, would-be 'noir'.
