Confessions of a Shopaholic
Aroview: Charmingly indulgent chick flick centered on a 'shopaholic' journalist who is forced to support her addiction by writing for a financial advice magazine.
Despite the feather-lite material she has to work with, Fisher brings an empathetic charm to this that evokes a sweeter, dorkier Carrie Bradshaw, holding our attention over the rather predictable goofy-girl-meets-sensible-boy plot. The gorgeous, money-soaked costumes are Fisher's supporting star, ironically reminding us - in a film that ultimately promotes anti-materialism - of how fun it is to splurge.

3 stars (Good Enough) Hard not to like - good and dippy lead performance - excellent support cast. ~Tubbs
2 stars (Good Try) Wow, what a cast. Lithgow! Kristin Scott Thomas! John Goodman! They even unearthed Julie Hagerty, and the two leads are great...but the script's a steaming pile. Oh well. ~HiFi
