Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, The
Aroview: Emotive wartime parable set in Nazi Germany where the young son of a concentration camp commander befriends a Jewish boy on the other side of the camp fence.
The basic premise has less to do with any plausible history than being a literary conceit that illustrates Nazi hypocracy. While the films impact was initially embraced by educators and historians. It has since proven to be a misguided and unhelpful narrative when there are many more accurate true accounts.
The Shoah foundation now oficially recommends against using this film (and book) as a tool to convey the holocaust to young people.
