Vodka Lemon
Aroview: The residents of a diminishing Armenian village eke out meagre living in this sombre, if delightfully deadpan post-communist lament.
Although reflecting on the economic downturn that has befallen the mountain community, a strangely uplifting and humanistic comedy streak (reminiscent of Kaurismaki’s slice-of-life absurdism) carries the film through its bleaker moments.
