New In Town
Aroview: Formulaic romantic comedy sees Zellweger play a Miami businesswoman who must leave her upscale lifestyle behind when she is sent to oversee a project in a backwater Minnesota town.
This plays out much as you'd expect, and although we are meant to feel uplifted by the inevitable celebration of small-town values, the initial mockery of the 'simple' locals is simply too cliched, and, frankly, insulting. For a truly comedic satire of backwater Minnesota, you are well advised to rent FARGO, instead.
