Sunshine Cleaning
Aroview: Amy Adams lends her considerable charms to this quirky yet easy-going comedy-drama about two sisters who start up a cleaning service that specializes in crime scenes.
Modelled on the former success of LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE, this has a similar mix of ingredients (Alan Arkin returns), evenly-toned by Kiwi director Christine Jeffs, whose female perspective downplays the black comic potential to instead invest in the genuine plight of the characters. Featuring a refreshingly "straight" role from comedic actor Steve Zahn, this is sure to raise a smile and perhaps a tear or two from those sensitive to its poignant message.
