Lovely and Amazing
Aroview: Rewarding indie drama - seasoned with touches of painful comedy - that observes the troubles between three sisters waiting for their mother to recover from a case of liposuction gone wrong.
Initially this seems a standard treatment of its themes, but the dir. of WALKING AND TALKING again brings her perceptive eye and quirky gracenotes to bear on the slippages of everyday conversation, revealing the 'innocent' obsessions of ordinary life.

3 stars (Good Enough) A mother & her three adult daughters struggle with self-esteem & insecurities. Only the youngest daughter, and adopted African American 8-year-old, stands a chance of avoiding the family legacy of anxious self-absorption. Not amazing, but still lovely. ~GenXGirl
