Soundtrack for a Revolution
Aroview: Joss Stone, John Legend, Wyclef Jean, and The Roots, among others, perform tribute covers of freedom songs from the American Civil Rights movement in this stirring documentary about protest and fight for justice and equality.
Though the film’s powerful use of archival footage carries plenty of emotional clout, the contemporising of the ‘soundtrack’ won't be music to the purist ear, with the cover versions sometimes struggling to evoke the era. Still, a moving historical document energized by some fresh, soulful beats.

5 stars (Exceptional) Importance of black music for the Civil Rights movement incl. great current footage & memories of living leaders. Not just music but the whole story esp. the early days at Montgomery, Alabama. White violence is made more bearable by great songs. Moving. ~Anon
