Baghead
Aroview: The Duplass Brothers deliver on the promise of their debut, THE PUFFY CHAIR, with another no-frills charmer that effortlessly marries assured improvisation with tight narrative control and an engaging premise.
Merciless in its send up of the film's half-arsed protagonists and indie film culture in general, four self-involved, would-be-filmmakers retreat to a remote wood-cabin to write the film that will make them all stars, but the plot turns on them unexpectedly once the idea of a bag-headed bogeyman presents itself. Courtesy of the hilarious/frightening conceit, this manages to be a pointed comedy, tense thriller and convincing romantic drama all at the same time.
