Pacific, The (TV Series)
Aroview: Searing, no-expense-spared follow-up to the Tom Hanks/Steven Spielberg-produced BAND OF BROTHERS shifts its epic perspective to the Pacific theatre of war, where the experiences of three newly enlisted marines are documented across such grueling battlegrounds as Guadalcanal and Iwo Jima.
A more involving character piece based on the memoirs of the central protagonists, this forgoes the conventional heroism and arousing combat sequences of the preceding WWII series to focus bleakly, and in the tradition of great anti-war dramas, on the pointlessness of war and its dehumanizing effects.

4 stars (Very Good) ~normfilmbuff
2 stars (Good Try) While commendable that Hanks and Spielberg have finally brought WWII to the Pacific, the series falls down in almost every aspect when compared to the older and more superior Band of Brothers. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) Boring. ~Tubbs
