Picture Me: A Model's Diary
Aroview: Catwalk and billboard model Sara Ziff presents herself "with and without makeup" in this first-hand insight into the pleasures and pitfalls of the high-fashion industry.
Together with her beau, Ole Schell, they commendably transform five years of personal video diary to documentary proper, helped by Ziff's natural exuberance and uncommon perceptiveness, and the result is a dignified self-portrait that isn't prone to self-consciousness. As with other portraits of the fashion world, there may inevitably be less than meets the eye, but in an age of celebrity and beauty worship, Ziff's story is a sobering reality check that refreshingly doesn't need to dish the dirt to prove her point.
