Party Down (TV Series)

Aroview: The brainchild of Rob Thomas (VERONICA MARS) and Paul Rudd, this sometimes bitter, if endearingly humorous series centres on a group of struggling actors forced to make ends meet at a Hollywood catering company, whose clientele range from a Republican's convention to a pampered teenager's sweet-sixteen.

In the tradition of depressive workplace comedies (i.e. THE OFFICE), the show draws out its laughter less from neat sitcom punchlines than it does the humiliation of its characters and other cringe-inducing scenarios, with a sprinkling of showbiz satire for good measure.
