Beeswax
Aroview: Another deft, soft-spoken indie from dir. Bujalski (MUTUAL APPRECIATION) concerns the comings and goings of 20-something twins: one, the struggling owner of a vintage clothing store; the other, a free-spirit torn between staying put, and venturing abroad.
Quietly sophisticated - from the watchful yet naturalistic scene direction, to the use of film stock over digital video - this offers a more mature, rewarding indie alternative to the often self-conscious low-budget features associated with the "mumblecore" movement.

4 stars (Very Good) At first this seems like unusual subject matter for a drama, but it slowly develops its own uniquely hypnotic rhythm. Bujalski works all kinds of small miracles, not least the getting of naturalistic performances from non-actors. ~HiFi
