“offers an unusually astute glimpse of power at its most alluring and corrosive.”~Washington Post
Aroview: A cracking yarn in unapologetic Hitchcock mould has Ewan McGregor hired to complete the memoirs of a Tony Blair-like former British prime minister (Brosnan) uncovering secrets that put his life if jeopardy.
A wild and woolly fiction that borrows liberally from real-life events, this may only have the gravitas of an 'airport novel' (by Robert Harris), but a fine cast and plush appointments help veteran dir. Polanski ply his trade in stylish, rollicking escapism right up until the 'surprise' denouement.

3 stars (Good Enough) A political intrigue reminiscent of the original House of Cards series. Star studded cast, quality acting. The story is enough to give the cast plenty to do and better told than in the original book. Polanski has his fingerprints all over this one. ~Anon
3 stars (Good Enough) McGregor's performance is the key - he has the lead part down pat. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) The miserable weather, throughout the movie, got a bit tedious. Ewan McGregor was perfect for the role. His dialogue was spot on. Peirce Brosnan was good too. I definitely never saw the ending coming, though. Worth watching just for that! ~Square Eyes
