Aroview: Playfully pulpy French thriller from veteran director Claude Lelouch (A MAN AND A WOMAN) depicts the intersecting lives of two strangers oddly connected to a famous crime novelist, played by the great Fanny Ardant.
After a spat with her fiancee, Audrey Dana is consoled by a man who may or may not be a serial killer, and ends up trying to pass him off as her fiancee to her family living in a rural backwater. Rather far-fetched at times, not helped by the casting of oddball character actor Dominique Pinon (DELICATESSEN), its blurring of fact and fiction in the literary world doesn't quite hit the mark, but newcomer Dana is superb and helps make it compulsively watchable.
