4 stars (Very Good) Toshiro Mifune in one of his best roles. Also, this is one of Kurosawa's most ambient. ~dr.strangelove
4 stars (Very Good) While Mifune rants and raves (expertly I might add) Isuzu Yamada controls the world by barely moving her lips. The set designs,the locations,the photography and the weather are all wonderfully depressing.The death scene is pure art by the film makers. ~Tubbs
