Prowler, The

Aroview: This underseen "perv noir" deliciously subverts archetypes by twisting its menacing male lead (a terrific Van Heflin) into a 'homme fatale', replete with powers of seduction and an emasculated on-screen persona. Evelyn Keyes plays a lonely suburban housewife preyed upon by Heflin's no-good police officer, who has designs beyond peeping through her kitchen window. Script by Dalton Trumbo.
