Company Men, The
“A serious, schematic, well-acted film about adjusting to new lifestyles in a changing world.”~Philip French, Guardian
Aroview: A trio of high-flying sales executives feel the effects of the Global Financial Crisis in this timely yet earnest drama.
As the Porsche-driving family man who faces redundancy, Ben Affleck lacks the emotional range to win the required depth of sympathy, while the film pitches to the broadest possible (American) audience and forgoes dramatic sophistication to match its worthy ambitions. Beyond that, it's a serviceable morality tale that is unlikely to raise too many heckles.
