Baseball
Aroview: Ken Burns's celebrated documentary transcends its sporting appearance to deliver an elegant and engrossing social history through baseball over 150 years, in which the "national pastime" becomes an everyday analogy for the heroes, villains, triumphs, failures, uplift, and turmoil seared into the American identity.
Includes 'The Tenth Inning', a present day follow-up in which Burns updates us with the dramatic developments in the game since the original series last aired in the mid-nineties.
Ten episodes across eleven discs:
- 1st Inning: Our Game
- 2nd Inning: Something Like A War
- 3rd Inning: The Faith of Fifty Million People

3 stars (Good Enough) This is great if you want to have conversations about baseball with old men. But I'm pretty annoyed that in 22 hours they talk to Stephen Jay Gould and Billy Crystal, but never Bob Uecker. I know I'm a Brewer fan, but come on. ~Pop&Coffee
