Insidious
Aroview: The creators of the original SAW reunite for this genuinely creepy haunted house movie, about a stressed couple whose comatose son is preyed upon by evil spirits.
Though not exactly extending the genre, the film's resourceful execution, patient building of suspense, and perfectly poised scares make it one helluva watch for fright fiends bored to death by cheap thrills and excessive gore. For what it is, a near-perfectly crafted horror with a refreshing emphasis on practical effects and old-fashioned, dread-inducing terror.

2 stars (Good Try) There were elements of the screenplay that were promising but as with a number of modern horrors centre stage is taken by noisy sound effects to "enhance" the scariness - but proves more of a distraction. ~Tubbs
