“Takes its place as a new generation's The Exorcist—for some, it will spin heads even more savagely”~Joshua Rothkopf, Time Out
Aroview: One of the most terrifying movies of recent years, with Toni Colette in a career defining performance, playing an artist whose mother passes away, leaving her family to inherit a sinister fate. Avoids many of the recent horror movie cliches to achieve unprecedented scariness, with the help of Saxophonist Colin Stetson's chilling score.

4 stars (Very Good) It's a genuinely scary occult tale but Hereditary's true power lies in its wrenching vision of that horror most horror films dare not touch: grief. Collette is astonishing - to say the rest of the cast hold their own is no small praise. ~fairbrother
2 stars (Good Try) Most of the first hour is fresh and very good but after that, it follows a well-trodden path. Two hours is a long time to maintain suspense. ~Tubbs
