Hook, Line and Sinker
“Intelligent, well-crafted screen storytelling which has its roots in the communities where it is shot.”~Peter Calder, NZ Herald
Aroview: A blue-collar truck driver struggles to cope with his failing eyesight, despite the love and support of his family, in this grassroots gem from Wellington filmmakers Andrea Bosshard and Shane Loader.
Building the script as a co-operative, organic process with the actors, this marks a distinct progression from their debut TAKING THE WAEWAE EXPRESS, with a more experienced ensemble cast able to develop full and "lived in" characters. While not all the story threads evolve without contrivances, this is character/actor-driven drama possessed of a vibrancy not common to local efforts, signaling its production ethos as one that independent film-makers could do well to adopt more often.
