House of the Devil
Aroview: A fully-fledged homage to the 'golden age' of 70's & 80's horror that could easily be mistaken for the real thing, it follows a young college student who takes on a strange babysitting job that coincides with a full lunar eclipse.
Muted colours in 16mm., Farrah Fawcett hair, a Sony Walkman, buckets of blood and the presence of Woronov, Wallace Stone plus the criminally under-used Noonan make this a nudge-nudge, wink-wink affair for old-school horror buffs, and a must-see for those that appreciate deftly controlled, slow burn dread.
Pop soundtrack includes the overlooked 80's power pop of the Greg Kihn Band, The Fixx and Thomas Dolby.
