“An extraordinarily visceral and subjective film, brilliantly straddling the divide between art-house and action cinema.”~Thomas Caldwell, Cinema Autopsy
Aroview: Saoirse Ronan plays a ruthless teenage assassin who is raised by her father (Eric Bana) in isolation and pursed by CIA operatives across Europe in this sleekly designed action thriller.
Her border-hopping exploits have a dreamlike, expressionistic quality enlivened by imaginative production design, and the stark electronic music by The Chemical Brothers contributes to the aesthetic in the same way that Daft Punk did to TRON LEGACY. For all its enthralling action and fetish visuals, though, it can't escape evoking a heritage of girl-centric Euro-thrillers like RUN LOLA RUN, NIKITA, and MAP OF THE HUMAN HEART to name a few, but in doing so keeps good company.

4 stars (Very Good) Example of a film being good with an average script. The script is not poor, but it is fairly slight. Uses sound & vision to create one of the most entertaining films of last year. Great performances & soundtrack complete a shinny action movie. ~SteveParkes
2 stars (Good Try) ~Leighton
1 star (Turkey) A child as assassin is a distasteful subject. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) Hanna is Run Lola Run with more violence, more compelling characters, and yet a less lovable end result. Excellent soundtrack and breathless pace. ~Tom H
