Aroview: The latest in the Underbelly franchise again features a strong Kiwi (and female) flavour, with Danielle Cormack and Chelsie Preston-Crayford starring opposite each other as rival vice queens of Sydney's illicit underworld during the 'Roaring 20s'.

The period setting, in particular, imbues proceedings with a sense of decadence and glamour too easily smothered by the grit and garishness of previous series, though the violence and melodrama implicit in Australia's organised crime history remains firmly intact.

4 stars (Very Good) Another excellent Underbelly season, right up there with the first season. Starts to drag a little by the end, but compelling characters and '20s grit keep it interesting and mostly exciting. ~Tom H
