Texas Killing Fields
Aroview: Muddled, though distinctly helmed serial killer saga set amid the sticky marshlands of Texas City, where two stone-faced homicide detectives become the target of a murderer usually content with preying on young girls.
Favouring atmosphere over catch-the-killer procedural thrills, this lacks the narrative cut and thrust synonymous with the genre, however still manages to leave a lasting impression with its moody realism and locational attention to detail. Directed by Michael Mann's daughter, with cinematography by Kiwi Stuart Dryburgh.
