Future, The
“Not a crowd-pleaser by any measure, but a mature, bold and recklessly inquisitive film.”~David Jenkins, Time Out
Aroview: Another arthouse treasure from the writer/director/actor behind ME AND YOU EVERYONE WE KNOW concerns an atypical 30-something LA couple who consciously change their lives in anticipation of becoming the proud new parents of a... stray cat.
With a narrative spun from a series of organically connected scenes, July's talent restores respectability to the much-maligned indie term 'quirky' with scenes that bristle with ideas and have their idiosyncracies in all the right places. Entirely recommended for anyone with an outsider sensibility and an artistic bent.

5 stars (Exceptional) There are a couple of slight overreaches and miscalculations, but the rest of this astonishing film resonates like a bell. ~HiFi
1 star (Turkey) Dull, protacted and affected. ~Anon
4 stars (Very Good) Miranda July is terrific and so is the sparse script. The screenplay is unusual and doesn't overstay its welcome. ~Tubbs
