L'Enfance-Nue
Aroview: Astonishingly sober coming-of-age tale represents Pialat at his most profoundly unsentimental. The director brilliantly blends naturalism and cynicism in his portrait of an angry, yet kindhearted ten-year-old boy who is passed on from one foster home to the next.

4 stars (Very Good) Before the tsunami of romcoms swept serious movies from French screens, Pialat made devastatingly tight, lightly-scripted films often not using professional casts, as here. Film is about how foster children and their carers cope. Good extra material ~Sandy
