Shirin
Aroview: From Abbas Kiarostami's avant-grade phase, this non-narrative tableaux of Iranian actresses (and one Juliette Binoche) enthralled by a film screening of 12th century Persian epic 'The Story of Khosrow and Shirin' delicately experiments with the artifice and theatricality of the conceptual premise while providing a moving, strangely mesmerizing study of female faces responding to art.

4 stars (Very Good) AKA "My Sweet Shirin". Different. Beautiful use of light and shadow. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) Unique, innovative, stunning! Totally different from any other film, but a great success. Imperative to watch the extra, "The Taste of Shirin" after the movie and preferably also read the encl. brochure. Hard to rate because YOU are part of the story. ~Sandy
