“This potty-mouthed and drug-laced reimagining of the 1980s TV show has one of the highest laughs-per-minute ratios since the Naked Gun films.”~Carrie Rickey, Philadelphia Inquirer
Aroview: It's back to the books for two larrikin junior cops on undercover assignment at a high school harbouring a drug ring, in this cocksure spoof of the cult 80s TV series.
Striking the right balance between juvenile hijinks, quotable one-liners, and classic genre parody, this hilarious spin-off also maintains a refreshing distance from its source material, instead choosing to exploit the endless comic possibilities inherent in the premise of two adults reliving the triumphs and traumas of high school. Channing Tatum, in particular, is adept at making fun of his beefcake image as the homecoming jock whose primate status has been superseded by a new breed of teenage cool: the hipster.

5 stars (Exceptional) One of the funniest films of the past half decade, 21 Jump Street is a hilarious combination of an unlikely buddy-cop combo and self-aware buddy-cop cliche. I dare you not to laugh at the 'drug taking' scene. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) Don't know why they bother. ~Tubbs
